Presenter Travel Grants
PRESENTER TRAVEL GRANTS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED DUE TO BUDGET CUTS. WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. PLEASE CHECK BACK.
These grants are provided to U.S. presenters who are interested in booking a PennPAT roster artist, and would first like to see a live performance by that artist. Funds may be used either to attend a full public performance by a PennPAT roster artist, at home or on tour (presenter may be based anywhere in the U.S.); or, if the presenter is from outside Pennsylvania, funds may also be used to attend a showcase by a particular roster artist at the PennPAT Showcases at the annual PA Presenters Conference.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
Be an IRS designated 501 (c) (3) organization or a unit of government based within the United States
Be an organization that presents touring performing artists and groups
Submit a complete application with all required attachments prior to the deadline
Grant Amounts
Grants are available for up to $500 and may cover, on a reimbursement basis, up to 100% of reasonable travel/lodging cash expenses related to this project. Conference registration fees are NOT eligible. Organizations may receive up to two Presenter Travel Grants per year.
Application Review
Applications will be reviewed by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and PennPAT senior staff, based on the criteria outlined below. Applicants may be contacted for clarification and/or additional materials.
Evaluation Criteria
The person attending the performance or showcase must:
Be in a position to make or influence booking decisions for his/her organization
Have plans to attend a particular roster artist’s performance, either at the PennPAT Showcases at the annual PA Presenters Conference (non-Pennsylvania presenters only), or at a full performance by that roster artist at home or on tour, for the purpose of considering that artist for a booking
The application must:
include a reasonable budget for the project
make a strong case as to why the presenter is interested in seeing this particular artist’s work and describe how this project will help the presenting organization make a booking decision
Required Application Materials
To be eligible, applicants must submit one copy of the following materials by the deadline date:
completed application form, including Cover Page, Budget, Addendum and Presenter Profile Form
one-page narrative addressing the Evaluation Criteria
letter or printed email from the roster artist confirming the applicant’s attendance at the performance
proof of non-profit status (IRS letter or other appropriate documentation. State tax exempt certificates are not acceptable.)
Mail all materials to PennPAT, 230 South Broad Street, Suite 1003, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
Deadline
Applications must be received in the PennPAT office at least six weeks prior to the performance date. Incomplete, faxed or e-mailed applications will not be considered.
Notification/Grant Payment/Reporting
Applicants will be notified on the status of their proposal within four (4) weeks of the application receipt date. Within 30 days after the performance or showcase, successful applicants will submit a final report form for the project with appropriate documentation and receipts. Reimbursement checks of up to 100% of the eligible documented costs (a maximum of $500) will be issued and sent directly to the applicant. Failure to submit reports in a timely manner may jeopardize funding.
Project Changes
Grantees must notify PennPAT immediately, in writing, of any changes to the program design or scope of a funded project. Changes must be approved by PennPAT before being implemented. Failure to obtain prior approval could impact funding.
