Rennie Harris Puremovement (RHPM)
is considered one of the the world’s
best hip-hop dance companies and has
toured nationally and internationally.
The company encompasses the diverse
and rich African-American traditions of
the past while presenting the voice of
new generations through ever-evolving
interpretations of dance. RHPM creates
a landscape of movement, rhythm,
sound, and images to reflect the spiritual
core of self and society and as a vehicle
for uniting people and cultures.

Dance programs include a repertory
program featuring new works; Facing
Mekka, a landscape of movement, music
and rhythm in which Rennie Harris
performs his stunning solo “Lorenzo’s
Oil”; Heaven, based on Stravinsky’s “Rite
of Spring;" and Something To Do With Love Vol 1, Harris’ newest work. Complementary activities include
lecture/demonstrations and master classes,
as well as working with residency participants
to create a performance piece.
