Nichole Canuso Dance Company
Noted by The Philadelphia Inquirer
for dances that have “a presence,
a right there-ness in the moment… like
a great slowed down slapstick routine,”
Nichole Canuso Dance Company (NCDC)
creates dances that celebrate the awkwardness,
humor and surprise in the
human experience. Using subtle gesture,
explosive movement, clowning, unconventional
audience participation and
interactive design, NCDC focuses on
developing fully-investigated, hybrid
dance projects that exist at the crossroads
of movement, visual art and theater.
Repertoire includes Takes, a 50-minute
multimedia work for two performers; Wandering
Alice, a 70-minute piece that includes
audience participation; and The Royal
We, for 12 dancers with roles available
for local performers. Complementary activities
include workshops for dancers and
non-dancers, master classes and
residencies that include the creation
of new work.
