Prophecy Music Project, Osubi I. Craig
Prophecy Music Project has a
repertoire that includes African,
Afro-Caribbean, Afro Latin percussion,
jazz, blues and African American
spirituals. Having studied and performed
together for more than 15 years, the
ensemble is dedicated to performing,
practicing and preserving traditional
African and African diaspora music and
dance. Osubi Craig’s “creation of mini-improvisational
compositions… [is]
nothing short of phenomenal.” (Lincoln
Center Institute) Craig, a third
generation percussionist, leads this
dynamic group with a relentless passion
for performing.
Programs include “Tracing Music from
Africa to America Through the Drum;”
“Rhythm, Rhapsody and Songs,”
featuring West African rhythms, songs
and historical folklore; and “Connections,”
highlighting the sounds of Africa found
in Caribbean and South American music.
Residency activities include drum-making
and musical rhythms workshops, lecture/
demonstrations and programs for children
of all ages.

8-feet wide x 12-feet
deep performance space. Smooth, flat
surface; wood floor preferred. Three
microphones and access to a sound
technician.
Fees
Performance fees $700-$3,200, plus
expenses. Residency fees $700 and up.
