Pennsylvania Ballet
Described by The New York Times
as “a first-rate company… vividly
expressive, unmistakably American
classicists,” Pennsylvania Ballet is
recognized as one of the foremost
dance companies in the country. The
company has been under the leadership
of Artistic Director Roy Kaiser since
1994. During the company’s 46-year
history, it has commissioned original
ballets from such choreographers as
Merce Cunningham, Christopher
d’Amboise, Trey McIntyre, Kevin O’Day,
Val Caniparoli, Lynne Taylor-Corbett
and Christopher Wheeldon.
Programs available for tour include
mixed repertory programs and the
full-length ballets Coppelia, George
Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Carmina
Burana and Swan Lake. Complementary activities include open dress rehearsals,
