Barry Hannigan

Pianist Barry Hannigan made his New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in 1984 and has since received rave reviews in major cities across the United States. Paul Moor wrote in Musical America: “...he absolutely bowled me over... with his extraordinary proficiency.” Hannigan’s creative programming blends music that ranges widely from the classical to ragtime to “novelty” piano and more.

Hannigan is willing to craft programs that are matched to the desires of presenters. Programs include “Rachmaninoff to Ragtime!”, all-Gershwin or all-Chopin. Hannigan is a specialist at outreach, having received the highest award at Bucknell University for inspirational teaching. Residency activities include school programs, lecture/demonstrations and master classes.
